Statement Game

The Colts entered Sunday's game at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers without six of their startes. Marvin Harrison. Joshep Addai, and Bob Sanders the most notable. However the Colts continued with thier "next man up" mentality and did not stumble without their key players. Rookies Athonaly Gonzalez and Kenton Keith (4 year CFL player) proved their worth and that they are going to be successful in this league on Sunday. Both had break out games, Gonzalez with seven catches and Keith rushed for 121 yards two touchdowns. The defense played another great game. They allowed their speed to shut down Tampa's running attack allowing only 17 total rushing yards. Jeff Garcia completed a lot of passes but all were short gaines and the Buc's recievers rarley got behind the colts definse. All in all it was a total team effort and a gratifing one. The colts will have their bye week next week which will give them a chance to get healthy.

A Perfect September

The Colts defeated the Denver Broncos 38-20 to finish 4-0 in the month of September. The Colts continued to roll with a dominating offensive performance that showed how effective they can be with a blananced running attack while gaining yards through the air. The Defensive made plays when they had to. None bigger than Marlin Jackson's interception in the third quater wich set up the Colts' second touchdown in three minutes. The victory did come at a cost though, Marvin Harrison, Joseph Addia, Bob Sanders, and Rob Morris all went down with injuries. Rob Morris is probably done for the season while the others should be ready to go next week vs. Tampa Bay.

3-0

Again the Indianapolis Colts went on the road and defeated a much improved Houston Texans team. With a new quaterback, Matt Shaub, a second year head coach and an improving defense the Texans are becoming a tough team to beat. The game opened up with the opening kickoff being returned for a tochdown for the Texans. Not a great start for the Colts. However, they got it in gear with a sound offensive performance lead by Peyton Manning. The Defense played strong and made stops when they needed too. The final score was 30-24. The Colts are now 3-o with two divisonal road victories. (the Colts lost all 3 divisional road games last year)
